Ashtoreth - The supreme female divinity of the Phoenician nations, the goddess of love and fruitfulness. She symbolized the female principle and was connected with fertility, sexuality, and war. Her symbols were the lion, the horse, the sphinx, the dove, and a star within a circle indicating the planet Venus (the Pentagram - also a symbol for Wiccans).
